COPYRIGHT   CONSCIOUS  ?



Dear Editor - Broadcaster - Publisher:


When you decide to obtain from World-Wide-Jobs and publish/broadcast

JOB  ADVT.  SUMMARY  ( JAS ),

would you be worried about violating COPYRIGHT ACT ?

Don’t .

There is no reason to worry, because:

  • Section 13 of the Indian Copyright Act, states that copyright shall subsist throughout India in the following classes of works:

a)  Original literary, dramatic, the musical and artistic work
b)  Cinematographic Films
c)  Sound recording

·     A job-advt is not a “literary work”

·     “The Internet seems to hold the opposite promise; and indeed the free presence of a work on the internet may mean that the author intends others to disseminate the work”

  • There is no mis-representation/mutilation of the original content

  • By clearly displaying the “source”  (name of concerned jobsite), we are not trying to hide anything – nor trying to pass-off JAS as our own/original content. We are giving credit to the sources.

·     We are not claiming any Intellectual Property Rights ( IPR) in respect of JAS



  • Job-advts posted by corporate job-advertisers come under the category

PUBLIC  DOMAIN  INFORMATION


And, are meant for downloading.

·     Job Advts are not “Password – Protected”

·     Jobsites do not carry “Copyright Notice”,  forbidding copying.

·     In fact, jobsites “encourage” copying/ redistribution by explicitly stating under each job-advt.,  “ E-MAIL TO A FRIEND”

  • Job-advertisers are keen/anxious to see that their job-advts reach out to millions of jobseekers. The more the merrier !

If job-advts reach many more candidates, they will get more resumes. We are “advancing” their “cause” – for FREE too !

  • We are trying to serve a “Social Cause” by extending the reach of these job-advts to millions of unemployed persons in remote places – persons who have very little access to job- related information. We are providing them with a “level-playing-field”
